How do I know if blockchain is right for my project?

It is genuinely valuable when multiple organizations need to share data without trusting a central operator, when immutability and audit trails are critical, and when smart contract automation removes friction that cannot be removed any other way. If your problem involves a single organization controlling the database, if participants already trust each other, or if a traditional database would serve you just as well — blockchain is probably not the answer. We will tell you this honestly on a strategy call.

How much does it cost to build a blockchain system?

Accepted Answer

It depends entirely on what you are building. Smart contract development for a DeFi protocol or NFT platform starts from $10,000–$25,000 for a focused scope. Enterprise Hyperledger Fabric or R3 Corda deployments with full network setup and integrations start from $50,000–$150,000 and go higher. Custom L1 protocol development is a six-figure minimum investment. We discuss cost openly in the first strategy call — we do not obscure pricing.

How quickly can we start?

After the strategy call, we can typically begin the architecture proposal within 24–48 hours. Once scope is agreed and contract is signed, development starts within one week. Our typical lead time from first call to development start is 10–15 business days. If you have an urgent timeline, tell us in the first call and we will be transparent about what is feasible.

Yes, without hesitation. We sign NDAs before any technical discussion if you need it. Most of our clients operate in competitive or regulated industries and we treat confidentiality as standard, not an exception.

What is the difference between a public and private blockchain?

Accepted Answer

A public blockchain (Ethereum, Solana) is open — anyone can read it, anyone can write to it, and no single party controls it. A private or permissioned blockchain (Hyperledger Fabric, R3 Corda) restricts who can participate, who can see what data, and who controls network governance. For enterprise applications involving sensitive data, regulated industries, or competing organizations — private chains are almost always more appropriate.

Should I use Ethereum or a private blockchain for my enterprise project?

Almost certainly a private blockchain. Ethereum is public — every transaction is visible to anyone with an Ethereum node. Enterprise applications typically involve sensitive financial data, proprietary supply chain information, or personal health records that cannot be exposed on a public ledger. Hyperledger Fabric and R3 Corda were built specifically for enterprise use cases where privacy and permissioned access are requirements, not nice-to-haves.

What programming languages do you use?

We do not work with a single stack — we use the right language for the platform.

We conduct internal security review on all smart contracts we deliver — checking for reentrancy vulnerabilities, integer overflow, access control issues, and economic attack vectors. For high-value DeFi protocols or any contract holding significant funds, we strongly recommend a third-party audit by a specialist firm (Certik, Trail of Bits, OpenZeppelin) in addition to our review. We can help coordinate this.

What is the difference between Layer 1 and Layer 2?

Layer 1 is the base blockchain (Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin). It provides the ultimate security and settlement guarantees but is constrained in throughput and expensive to use. Layer 2 is a system built on top of an L1 that processes transactions off-chain and posts compressed proofs or data back to the L1. L2s inherit L1 security while offering much higher throughput and lower fees. Arbitrum and Optimism are Ethereum L2s. For gaming and consumer applications, we often recommend building an application-specific L2 or sidechain.

We schedule weekly calls at times that work for your timezone, maintain async communication throughout via Slack or WhatsApp, and provide written summaries after every meeting. Timezone has never been an obstacle to a successful project.

What support do you provide after launch?

All fixed-price projects include a 30-day post-launch support period for bug fixes and minor adjustments. Beyond that, we offer ongoing retainer agreements for continuous development and maintenance SLAs for infrastructure monitoring and incident response. Most clients continue working with us after launch — the relationship does not end at delivery.

Can you join a project that is already mid-stream?

Yes, though we require a technical assessment period first. We need to understand the existing architecture, code quality, and what has been built before committing to a timeline. We have rescued projects in distress and joined teams mid-build — it requires clear communication about the current state before we can scope the work.

Do you guarantee delivery?

We guarantee the deliverables defined in the contract, at the quality level specified, within the agreed timeline. If we encounter unexpected complexity that impacts the timeline, we flag it immediately rather than missing a deadline silently. We have a strong track record of on-time delivery and client satisfaction — but we do not make guarantees we cannot keep.

Is Hyperledger Fabric still actively developed?

Yes. Hyperledger Fabric is maintained by the Linux Foundation with active contributions from IBM, Oracle, Red Hat, and dozens of other enterprise technology companies. The current version is Fabric 2.x with regular updates. Despite some high-profile enterprise blockchain project closures (TradeLens), Fabric itself is not going anywhere — the underlying technology is solid and widely deployed.

Is R3 Corda only for financial services?

Corda was designed for financial services and its architecture reflects that — bilateral flows, legal identity, regulatory-grade privacy. But it has been used successfully in healthcare (MediLedger), trade finance, insurance, and supply chain. If the use case involves regulated industries, contractual relationships, and privacy requirements — Corda is worth evaluating regardless of sector.

How long does it take to deploy a Hyperledger Fabric network?

A minimal Fabric network for development can be set up in hours using the Fabric test network. A production deployment with properly configured CAs, Orderer nodes, Peer organizations, private data collections, and monitoring takes 4–12 weeks depending on the number of organizations and integration complexity. The governance and organizational coordination often takes longer than the technical setup.
